Freshman incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto's challenger is Republican nominee Adam Laxalt who is Nevada's former attorney general.

Who is Adam Laxalt?

Laxalt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University and graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. Additionally, he is a former Naval Officer and Iraq Veteran, serving in Iraq detainee operations.

She sits on the Committee on Finance; the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; and the Committee on Indian Affairs. Cortez Masto currently serves as the chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee’s Public Lands, Forests, and Mining Subcommittee.
